Due to the total lack of action on the Hale, the generals are proposing DC be loaded on the Hale. Not permanently, but for a little while. If you want, think of it as preparation for BF2. Any objections?

Sounds like its worth a shot to me. Any possibility of gettin the good ol hale back with my 40-50 ping? I belive WNW has loaded DC on their server, it was on last sunday... I absolutely suck at it, and would love the opportunity to get better. especially if yall think BF2 will be like it.

DC is good for me. Logvin's right... we can all use a bit of practice. Oh.. wait!! I must re-install! (Makes mental note).

Good Laughs last night watching Army, trying to fly a helicopter ;D... I let Gen. Steve know that we're running DC on the Hale... Hopefully he can bring some local guys on... I believe he said that there are no local DC server so hopefully we can attract some people to play on our server... Maybe we can set up some kind of schedule later on... certain days are DC certain days are Vanilla 1942...

The physics of the helos in DC really screw with my flying skills. I'll have to continue to practice.

Heheh, actually the physics are pretty good for the copters, a lot better then Vietnam... in BFV, the copters were way too easy to fly... but I guess they had to do it so anyone could do it...
but anyways, we're still working on some kinks in the DC server installation... but it kinda works...

;D When I said that the physics screwed with my flying skills, I should have reiterated that I have hardly any flying skills to begin with! Thank Allah that BFV had user-friendly flying equipment, or I would have always been a ground pounder. I'm not sure how realistic DC really is, but in Microsoft's FS2004, the Bell helo they have is relatively easy to fly (landing it is a completely different story though). I can actually get places in that thing, and Microsoft advertises that "it's as real as it gets". So I honestly couldn't tell you what has more life-like performance. I just need practice. Or maybe I'll remain an infantry soldier. At least I won't be needing to pack a parachute with my gear.

Hehe, well, I do have to admit, the helos in DC are a little more "twitchy" then MS flight simulators... but the overall concept is very similar... You just need to be a little more concious about the control inputs...
I haven't played MS flight sim in a long long long long time, but I did play it way back in 2000.... and the Bell jet ranger helo was pretty similar... just not as "twitchy"
I having a combat sim by Janes, called Longbow... with apache helicopters... From what I remember, it was pretty fun, the physics however were pretty sheitty, and it was easy to fly...
