Heres some pics from the toro nagashi festival at ala moana beach tonight. home.hawaii.rr.com/chadm/69er/lanterns01.jpg[/img] They were taken with my V1 on tripod and handheld with no flash. For the mainlanders, basically this is a japanese festival to honor our ancestors and deceased. Normally its held at the end of obon season (normally august), but I think its ideal that they hold it on memorial day to honor the heros that helped make this country what it is. LZ

Oh, how I miss the shores of Oahu! That festival looked very interesting. I would have loved to be there to experience it. Thank you for sharing your pictures.

monkey, how do you like your rebel? I read earlier you were using the kit lens, are you still using that one? If so, are ou satisfied with the sharpnes, or lack there of? Also did you have any digitals before this one?
Im getting pretty into photography, and as much as I love film, it is very expensive and I dont have a dark room so i have to rely on other to develop, etc, and most times i am not so pleased with the results. I have a canon eos elan 7e right now so If i buy a digital slr it will definately be canon so that i can share lenses (im buyin a 28-70mm f2.8L soon) and that sheit is more than the camera body itself. If i were rich it wouldnt even cross my mind, but im not so......
Anyway, im trying to figure out if i want to buy a digital rebel or save up a bit more and buy the 10D. thanks...
in the meantime im trying to sell a bunch of unwanted sheit to buy a cheap (relatively) powershot a80. have you seen the new pro1?!! 8megapixils and canon "L" glass . OOO LAHLAH!!!!!

ROBO:
I just picked up the DR "kit"... It is fuggin sweet! I'm more into action shots (i.e. Drifting, motorcycles, booty contests, etc...) than the nature/scenery ones. I also picked up a Canon EF 75-300mm zoom. I love the aperture on this lens! I'll post some pick up soon. Oh yeah, the continuous drive mode is awesome! Click click click click in 2.5 secs.

Here's some pics I took this past weekend at the track. Some of my buddies we're riding an open track day. Taken with my new Canon EF 75-300mm zoomie lens. Not the best shots, I'm still messing with the settings.
