If I had a choice I would by an apple. But the games and hardware are all for PC. Oh well......... Does anyone know if the 64 bit processor for the PC is any good and how it is doing now that it has been out for several months? I was thinking for possibly upgrading. I have a lot of old Hi8 tapes that I want to convert to DVD and edit too.

Midknight, Check out this site www.hardocp.comThey have reviews, or links to review on new hardware... As of right now, the 64bit Athlon processors are supposedly the best processors out on the market. They have great 32bit performance, but when the time comes to switch over to 64bit apps, that's when you're supposed to see the major jump in performance. They currently come in 2 breeds. I forget the naming, but you can tell in the price. The cheaper of the two are supposedly the way to go, bang for your buck wise, but if you're looking for pure performance, and money is no object, go with the higher grade processor. They beat out the any highend Pentium4 processors, even though they are clocked much lower. If you're looking for a budget upgrade, and not really convinced about jumping to 64bit, you can check out the Mobile athlon Barton chips... I think they have been seeing some major overclocks on the 2500+ mobile processors... you can use these chips in regular desktop comps... I believe they've been getting nearly 1ghz overclocks on these chips using air cooling... Just check out the site I posted above, and you should find ample information on videocards, and processors... Also check out their forums for more info as well...
